Boujeecletta: The Bold Cycling Jersey Inspired by “Be Different”

Boujeecletta: From “Be Different” to Redefining the Road

When I first started sketching the concept for the Boujeecletta jersey, my guiding thought was simple: be different. The cycling apparel world is saturated with patterns that play it safe—geometric lines, predictable color blocking, and palettes that blend into the peloton. I wanted something that didn’t just stand out visually, but stood for something.

The phrase “be different” stayed in my mind like a sticky note on a whiteboard. But the more I played with ideas, the more I realized that it wasn’t just about being different—it was about owning difference. That’s when another idea landed: the idiom, “Don’t fit a square peg in a round hole.”

That phrase isn’t just about mismatched shapes. It’s about the quiet frustration of fitting yourself into spaces that were never designed for you—and the power of refusing to do so. I wanted the Boujeecletta jersey to embody that defiance, that refusal to conform, while still being unapologetically stylish.

Translating the Idiom into Design

The “square peg” idea became a design playground. We experimented with patterns that clashed in a way that felt intentional—bold high-contrast “chains” against a sleek black base, sharp edges softened by repeated patterns. It was a jersey that didn’t care about blending in; it cared about telling you who it was from a hundred meters away.

The name Boujeecletta—a playful mix of “boujee” (because yes, it’s unapologetically luxe) and “bicicletta” (Italian for bicycle)—gave the jersey its personality. It’s as much about attitude as it is about performance. The fit is pro-level, the fabric breathable and light, but the visual story is where it truly earns its name.

More Than Just a Jersey

Boujeecletta isn’t for everyone—and that’s exactly the point. It’s for the riders who want to express themselves while pushing watts, the ones who are tired of looking like everyone else in the bunch. It’s a little rebellious, a little refined, and a lot of fun.

This jersey started with “be different,” evolved through “don’t fit a square peg in a round hole,” and ended up as something that doesn’t just fit into cycling culture—it shapes it.
